The Story

WL Weller 107 Proof

Bottled at 107 proof Old Weller Antique is a welcomed member of the WL Weller family with some unique characteristics all its own. Old Weller Antique is, like other members who proudly wear the WL Weller label a bourbon where the rye grain has been replaced by wheat.

As he sits down to join his family around the crackling log fire he is full bodied and flavorful with remarkably complex tastes. The family gathering is complimented by his balanced palate and bold and big hearted finish.

He is a striking deep burnt orange colour, a natural red head. In the glass he invites with aromas that are unusually floral and sweet, threaded through with rich vanilla.

On the palate he tastes of juicy fruit, the vanilla comes forward and is balanced with an intriguing sharp spiciness that hangs around at the finish, which is lingering and warm with the flavor of grated cinnamon.

A medium amber bourbon, bearing a sweetish note with some unusual floral notes and a string dash of vanilla. The body is big and the palate is very well balanced, flirting between sweet honeyed fruit notes, a strong vanilla undertone and some sharp spicy tones; the finish is long and spicy.
